Course Objective
The Course is a detailed investigation into the historical and literary background of Indian Literature in English.
Course Introduction
The course deals with different literary genres like poetry, plays and novella for the students to get an exposure into the plethora of forms into which the literary tradition of Indian writing in English bloomed.
Targeted Students
Semester 5 Communicative English students.
Course outcomes
Recall the development of Indian Writing in English
Explain the Indianness in Indian Literature in English
Understand the different genres produced.
Analyse the strength and constraints of Indian English as a literary medium.
Identify basic trends within World Literary history.
Demonstrate an appreciation of Indian Literature.
